Ceramic designer, Marguerite Porche lives and works in Lyon, France.
She shapes stoneware by hand, using rudimentary tools. Instinctively, she creates curved shapes in an ancestral gesture, in communion with the clay. The stoneware she uses is all different. Depending on the desired effect, these clays are more or less grog-textured, revealing a multitude of natural shades that Marguerite most often chooses to present in their raw state.
Sensitive to the way in which objects accompany our lives and are passed down from generation to generation, each piece is designed to fit into our daily lives and last over time.
Her work is inspired by the elements, minerals and plants, giving birth to figurative forms that are round and elegant, free and open.
Through her skills, she aims to create objects that are halfway between art and craft, ‘chosen objects’ that allow us to truly inhabit our homes.
